“There is nothing so moving for a book lover as reading one's favorite book in a first edition. To see words so loved, sometimes even words that have become a permanent part of our broader culture, the way they originally appeared is deeply emotional, and something every reader should experience. While Jane Austen and Ernest Hemingway may be out of reach for most collectors, the debut novels of today will become the beloved first editions of tomorrow, no doubt becoming books you and your children and grandchildren will want to pull down from the shelf again and again—not just to appreciate their value, but to re-experience the genesis of a new idea, a new character, or a new opening sentence that changed everything.”
