Where can I learn more about being a professional writer in the Book Industry?
Become a regular at Bookmarks and other independent bookstores. Shop in the store, attend author events, become a volunteer. Not only will you learn a lot, but we will get to know you, which helps us to better talk about and recommend your books.
Join a writer’s group to network with other writers, attend conferences and workshops, and learn more about the industry. Two groups we collaborate with are:
- Winston-Salem Writers: a group of writers who write fiction, nonfiction, plays and poetry, and who care about the art and craft of writing.
- North Carolina Writers’ Network: connects writers across the state through competition, editing, critique services, and peer review.
