Civil Rights Book Club

Join us in the bookstore to discuss Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson on MLK Day 2020.

We will honor Dr. King's legacy with a discussion about criminal justice, racial inequity, and advocating for members of marginalized communities who fall victim to state-sanctioned violence and incarceration.

Bookmarks’ Inventory Manager Caleb Masters calls Just Mercy “a great book club pick . . . a compelling, sobering, and ultimately hopeful book where Bryan Stevenson takes a hard look at the ways our justice system disadvantages the poor and people of color.” Stevenson writes: "The true measure of our character is how we treat the poor, the disfigured, the accused, the incarcerated, and the condemned."
