The Bookmarks Festival of Books and Authors is the largest annual book festival in North & South Carolina. Attracting more than 20,000 attendees from 16 states, the Festival is held in downtown Winston-Salem on the weekend following Labor Day.
Authors, illustrators, and storytellers present in solo events, workshops, and panel discussions throughout the day in multiple indoor and outdoor venues ranging in capacity from 150 to more than 500. Events begin on Thursday night with a keynote address. Featured keynotes have included David Baldacci, John Grisham, Azar Nafisi, and James Patterson. Events continue on Friday with school and community visits, workshops, and Eat & Greet ticketed events.
